"Kid's Going to Be Out of the League in 2 Years": Lakers Fans Flame Yaxel Lendeborg for Going After Lakers Superstar With "Whining" Accusations

Yaxel Lendeborg sparked Lakers Nation with his postgame interview remarks after the Warriors' 127-105 loss to the Lakers on opening night on Wednesday. The Dubs rookie was asked about his first experience as a professional.

In his response, he immediately took shots at the Purple and Gold superstar Luka Doncic.

"I had a lot of respect for him. I didn't really watch the NBA much," he said. "I just watched highlights and saw him kill people. But being in it firsthand and seeing all the whining and complaining, I lost all respect."

An X account shared the interview, flooding the comments section.

"Kid's going to be out of the league in 2 years. Eventually, players' attitudes become toxic, and teams don't want them," one fan said.

"Dude talks like a 2K MyCareer player when you do the +100 Fans Choice option," another fan said.

"I have literally never heard of this dude. He will be out of the league in 5," another fan commented.

More reactions followed:

"Funny coming from a guy on a team that complains to refs every single possession," one fan commented.

"Dude commenting on other players whining... while whining in a press conference. This clearly isn't the sharpest tool in the toolbox," another fan commented.

"Luka accomplished more by age 24 than this guy will in his whole career 😂," another fan said.

Draymond Green supports Yaxel Lendeborg in his comments on Luka Doncic

Draymond Green played the role of a veteran mentor for Yaxel Lendeborg after the Warriors' opening night loss. The Dubs star stood behind his rookie's bold comments on Doncic in a postgame interview.

"I think everybody’s going to be like, 'Oh man. He shouldn’t talk to Luka,'” he said. "And I disagree with that 1,000 percent... You talk until you can’t talk no more. And if he busts your (expletive), guess what? You play them again three more times, and you go back at his (expletive) again."

Yaxel Lendeborg had a decent showing in his NBA debut. He finished with 12 points, three rebounds and two assists on 5-for-11 shooting. Doncic, meanwhile, posted 28 points, eight rebounds and seven assists to secure the win.
