What is Joonas in Moon Sweepers (and how to use it efficiently)

Moon Sweepers' Joonas is a special robot that helps with sweeping the moon. Just One Overpriced Nonessential Automated Sweeper, stylized as J.O.O.N.A.S., comes with six arms that help it sweep the area efficiently, saving you a lot of time and effort. Despite its hefty $20,000 price tag and “nonessential” label, Joonas is crucial for smooth progression.

Still, using Joonas can seem complex at a glance. The game offers very little tutorial in terms of how to use him, so you may be left confused. If you’re just jumping into Moon Sweepers and don’t know how to put him to use, we’re here to help.

How to use Joonas in Moon Sweepers

Before you can put Joonas to use, you need to purchase the bot from the Services menu. Head to this menu, and you’ll find Joonas as the third available option. Click on the robot, and confirm your purchase for $20,000. Then, open the Build menu and select Joonas here. You’ll then be shown an outline of the bot, and you can place him wherever necessary. Joonas will sweep the dust and store it inside capsules, cleaning the area in the process.

Next, you need to build the Capsule Catcher in Moon Sweepers. Once Joonas has collected the dust in a capsule, it will toss the capsule out. The Capsule Catcher will catch this capsule and send it over to the Collector, which will then earn you money.

Head to the Services tab and purchase Capsule Catcher for $1,500. Place the catcher near Joonas. Whenever Joonas launches the capsule, it will automatically head towards the Capsule Catcher, automating the process.

If you need sand, you can turn the dust Joonas is collecting into sand using the Pressure Chamber. Set up a Pressure Chamber and connect it to the Capsule Catcher using a production line.

Now, when Joonas cleans an area, it will fill up a capsule with dust and launch it towards the Capsule Catcher. The catcher will then pass it onto the Pressure Chamber, where it will be turned into sand for you to use. This is the most efficient way to use Joonas, incorporating it into a production loop.
