Padikkal out for 199 in India A vs New Zealand A match
After being skittled out for a paltry 113 on Day 1, Padikkal and Sai Sudharsan helped India recover from a precarious position and helped their side overhaul the first-innings deficit.
India A batter Devdutt Padikkal will be rueing himself for missing a double century after being dismissed on 199 on Day 3 of the four-day Test against New Zealand A on Monday at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln, New Zealand.
After being skittled out for a paltry 113 on Day 1, Padikkal and Sai Sudharsan helped India recover from a precarious position and helped their side overhaul the first-innings deficit.
Sudharsan eventually fell for 91, but Padikkal continued to anchor the innings and was one hit away from a double ton when a loose delivery from Zak Gibson drifted down the leg side.
The 26-year-old attempted to glance it away, and a noise was heard before the ball went into the hands of Mitchell Hay. Soft appeals came from the New Zealand players, following which the umpire’s finger went up.
