Devon Conway and Matt Henry were involved in a collision while fielding at Black Caps training in Auckland on Tuesday.
Black Caps captain Mitchell Santner said Conway is being assessed and was in doubt for the ODI series opener against India at Eden Park on Wednesday, but that Henry seemed “OK” after concussion testing.
"It's one of those ones you want to take very seriously, head knocks. We have a backup batter in line just in case, but we'll wait and see how he pulls up. But it didn't look great to be fair," Santner told media on Tuesday.
He confirmed the backup batter would be Tim Seifert.
