3-time AEW champion demands blockbuster rematch against Samoa Joe

A former AEW champion wants to battle Samoa Joe in a major rematch.

The aforementioned star is Jungle Boy Jack Perry. The former three-time TNT Champion began his pursuit of a World Championship and called out former champion Samoa Joe in September 2026, when Joe was absent from All Elite Wrestling. When the Samoan Submission Machine returned, a rivalry ensued between the two competitors.

It eventually led to a one-on-one showdown between Joe and Perry in a Clockwork Carnage qualifying match a few weeks ago. Both men delivered a highly compelling bout and tore each other apart in the high-stakes situation. Joe powered out of Perry's Snare Trap submission and hit the Muscle Buster to win.

On the recent episode of Dynamite: Fright Night, Jack Perry had another hard-hitting bout against Kyle Fletcher. Despite his valiant effort, he came up short, and the match gave The Protostar an opportunity to challenge Will Ospreay for the AEW World Championship. As for the Jungle Boy, he took to his Instagram stories to say that he was banged up, but turned his focus back on Samoa Joe and wanted a rematch against him. You can check out a snapshot from his stories below:

"Just woke up. Feel like sht. I'm gonna be the world champion. @samoajoe I want my rematch."

AEW star Samoa Joe on Anthony Bowens

During an interview with SHAK Wrestling, Samoa Joe spoke about his former Opps cohort, Anthony Bowens. The former AEW World Champion praised Bowens for his in-ring performance and connection with the fans and said that he could thrive as a top performer if given center stage.

"You know, he's becoming a much more varied competitor, where, you know, he's gonna be multifaceted. You know, and listen, he's always been a blue-chip athlete. He's always been a tremendous wrestler. He's able to connect with crowds. You know, he's able to bring people off their feet. But, you know, it's just now kind of pairing a little bit more viciousness, putting a little bit more, you know, edge on the blade, and, you know, putting him in the positions where hopefully he can shine and kind of show the world what he's capable of," said Joe.

With Jack Perry challenging him, it remains to be seen whether this rematch will happen.
