"I don’t want to hear about him" - Liverpool legend labels Arsenal star Bukayo Saka a 'cheat' for his antics on the pitch

Liverpool and Scotland legend Graeme Souness has slammed Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, and labelled him a 'cheat' for diving all over the pitch.

Speaking after Arsenal secured a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, Souness took offence at an incident that happened during the game. Bukayo Saka was fouled by Neco Williams, which saw the Forest player receive a caution from the referee, despite making minimal contact.

Appearing on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show, Souness called out the Arsenal winger for overreacting and called him a 'cheat'. He said (via Metro UK):

"Your (Piers Morgan) man Saka dives all over the place. I don’t want to hear about him. The minute he looks like he's losing possession, he’s down. He simulates a foul. Anyone who simulates a foul, in my book, would be a cheat. He dives when he should be staying on his feet. He’s not alone. So Saka gets tackled; he screams as he’s going down."

Souness then took shots at the Gunners' players for trying to pressure referees into making decisions in their favor. He said:

"The referee thinks there’s nothing in that, but wait a minute, he’s stayed down. And then worse than that, everyone in the immediate area – all Arsenal players – put their hands up and screamed foul. The referee at that point panics and blows his whistle when it wasn’t a foul – his first instinct was the right one."

Souness finished by saying that, in his opinion, simulation is a form of cheating and is playing spoilsport in the modern game.

According to StatMuse, Saka was the 10th most fouled player in the Premier League last season with 54 fouls drawn. He currently sits second behind Manchester City's Elliot Anderson for fouls drawn so far this season.

Mikel Arteta backed to win multiple titles with Arsenal by Gunners legend

Gunners icon David Seaman has backed Mikel Arteta to win multiple trophies with the North London club before leaving the Emirates. The Spanish coach guided the Gunners to their first title in 22 years in the 2025-26 season, and he was rewarded with a new deal for his prowess with the North London side.

Speaking to Betway (via The Sun), Seaman backed Arteta to guide his former team to multiple titles at the club. He said:

“I would like to have seen him win three or four, and maybe a Champions League as well, because he deserves that for the work that he’s put in. I was always positive, and I could see on the training ground all the work that he was doing, and now people are seeing that.”
