New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson opened up about his sideline exchange with quarterback Geno Smith after Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Miami Dolphins while speaking to reporters postgame. CBS cameras caught Wilson animatedly speaking toward Smith late in the game as the Jets tried to fight their way back.

The moment raised questions about a possible disagreement, especially after Wilson went without a target in the first half as New York trailed 21-7 at halftime. Wilson addressed the incident after the loss.

"We were collaborating. I don't even think I was talking to Geno. I think we were both heated, but not at each other at all," Wilson said. "We were just disappointed about how we were playing up to that point. [We] wanted it to be a little more aggressive. That's what it was."

Wilson finished with just two catches for 26 yards on three targets, his season lows across the board. He did not record his first reception until the final snap of the third quarter's opening drive, while tight end Mason Taylor and rookie receiver Omar Cooper received more opportunities.

Smith also played down the exchange, saying he did not remember a confrontation. He added that Wilson might be yelling but not at him.

Aaron Glenn takes responsibility for Garrett Wilson’s limited role in Jets’ loss

New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn admitted the team needs to do a better job of getting Garrett Wilson involved after the wide receiver finished Sunday's 28-25 loss to the Miami Dolphins with just two catches for 26 yards.

Glenn opened up about Wilson's limited involvement while speaking to reporters after the game.

“A player of his magnitude, we have to do everything we can to get him the ball,” Glenn said. “I'm going to put that on myself, because that's in the gameplan to try and get it to him, we have to do everything we can to make sure we do that.”

Wilson went without a target in the first half as the Jets fell behind 21-7. He also appeared to have a heated exchange with quarterback Geno Smith on the sideline. However, both players dismissed any personal disagreement.

The Jets have now lost five of their last six games and face the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 8.
