“Time for the Matt LaFleur era to end”: Calls mount to fire Packers HC as Jordan Love-led team “chokes” vs. Lions

Matt LaFleur may have just entered the hot seat again.

On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers lost 17-20 to the Detroit Lions after Jake Bates made a 22-yard field goal as time expired. They had led just once throughout the game.

Afterward, calls once again mounted for the head coach's dismissal:

"It’s time for the Matt LaFleur era to end. Year in and year out, they routinely come out unprepared in every single big game. This has been going on for SEVEN YEARS. Enough is enough. It’s time for a change," one proclaimed.

"Nobody chokes like a Matt LaFleur team," another posited.

"Some atrocious calls for sure. But. Fire Matt LaFleur," another demanded.

"Matt LaFleur needs to be fired," one insisted.

"Fire Matt LaFleur. SO bad," one begged.

"Final update: Fire Matt LaFleur, Fire Jonathan Gannon, Cut Trey Smack," another outlined.

Jordan Love helmed the Packers, completing 27 of 45 attempts for 274 yards and two touchdowns against an interception. Meanwhile, running back Josh Jacobs was held to just 36 yards on 11 carries in his return from a stint on the commissioner's exempt list for domestic violence, though he did catch a touchdown.

Meanwhile, the Lions got 303 yards and two touchdowns to Jameson Williams out of Jared Goff. Jahmyr Gibbs proved his dominance on the ground again, rushing 29 times for 116 yards, while Amon-Ra St. Brown led all receivers with 153 yards from just nine catches.
