"Ab serious Arshdeep ban chuka hai" - India star's reply leaves broadcasters laughing ahead of NZ vs IND 2026 3rd T20I [Watch]

Known as much for his witty humor and infectious energy off the field as his sharp yorkers on it, Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh left broadcasters and fans in stitches with a hilarious self-assessment ahead of the third T20I against New Zealand.

When asked about his evolving persona during a pre-match interview, the 27-year-old fast bowler quipped with his signature Punjabi charm during a chat with the host broadcaster:

"Reel-veelan ka daur gaya paaji, ab serious Arshdeep ban chuka hai" ("The era of making reels is over, brother; now a serious Arshdeep has arrived").

The witty remark immediately triggered laughter among the broadcast crew. Arshdeep, a fan-favorite for his lighthearted social media presence and celebratory reels, delivered the line with perfect comedic timing before shifting focus back to his bowling preparation.

The clip of the banter quickly went viral across social media platforms, with fans celebrating the bowler's ability to keep the team environment light while maintaining high performance standards.

Despite his playful claim to have turned "serious," Arshdeep's on-field performances have been nothing short of disciplined. The left-arm pacer has emerged as a crucial weapon in India's bowling attack across white-ball formats. Holding an impressive record as one of India's leading wicket-takers in T20Is, he has consistently delivered under pressure in both the powerplay and death overs.

"Jeet ab past ka hissa ban chuki hai" - Arshdeep Singh shifts focus to execution ahead of 3rd NZ vs IND T20I

Continuing the pre-match conversation, the Indian pacer quickly turned his focus from lighthearted banter to the upcoming match strategy, emphasizing that the team is not dwelling on past victories.

When asked about India's momentum in the ongoing series, Arshdeep stressed the importance of staying present and maintaining high standards.

"Jeet ab past ka hissa ban chuki hai paaji. Abhi yahi team mein baat hai, environment mein baat hai ke iss match mein kaise apna best dena hai and look at it as a three match series and give our best," (The win has now become a part of the past, paji. Right now, the talk within the team and the environment is just about how to give our best in this match, and look at it as a three-match series and give our best.) he said.

Arshdeep had another decent outing, returning with one for 33 in four overs, as New Zealand posted 198/3 after batting first.
