The Afghanistan leg-spinner reached the landmark in his 120th T20I during his team’s 19-run victory over Zimbabwe in Sharjah on Thursday.

Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan became the first bowler to claim 200 wickets in men’s T20 internationals during his team’s 19-run victory over Zimbabwe in the second T20I in Sharjah on Thursday.

The 28-year-old reached the milestone in his 120th T20I when he trapped Tadiwanashe Marumani lbw for two in the ninth over of Zimbabwe’s innings. Rashid finished with figures of one for 29 from four overs.

He leads the men’s T20I wicket-taking charts, with England’s Adil Rashid second on 171 wickets. The Afghanistan spinner has also registered two five-wicket hauls in the format, with best figures of five for three.

Earlier, Afghanistan recovered from 5 for 4 to post 221 for seven, thanks largely to Azmatullah Omarzai’s 116 off 50 balls. Rashid also contributed an unbeaten 25 off six deliveries.
