"You didn't fall for the bullsh*t" - Martina Navratilova rejoices as Lula secures historic 4th Presidential term in Brazil

Martina Navratilova recently reacted to the results of the Brazilian presidential election. As Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva secured a historic fourth presidential term, Navratilova congratulated the country on rejecting right-wing narratives.

The 2026 Brazilian presidential election race featured a close battle between Mr. Lula and the Liberal Party’s Flávio Bolsonaro, with Lula eventually clinching 64 million votes for the win. Throughout the elections, Bolsonaro received support from US President Donald Trump, as well as tech giants Meta, X and Google. However, support from the youth eventually pushed Mr. Lula to victory.

Celebrating the results of the Brazilian presidential election, an X user wrote,

“Congratulations Brazil, you didn’t Trump yourselves.”

Responding to this, Martina Navratilova penned her own note, writing,

“Hallelujah!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼- well done Brasil - you didn’t fall for the BS!!!”

Navratilova maintains a strong following and regular presence on social media platform X. The former tennis star uses her reach to express her social and political opinions and she has consistently spoken out against US President Donald Trump and his right-wing policies.

Martina Navratilova slams President Donald Trump as a ‘pedophile’ amidst debate about trans athletes

In recent years, Martina Navratilova has been vocal about her opinions on the debate surrounding trans athletes competing in women's sports. The American has made it clear she does not support trans women in women's spaces, and a fan on X recently questioned the tennis star about her opposition to US President Donald Trump despite his anti-trans opinions, writing,

“How can you be a Trump hater? You don’t want to talk to us if we support President Trump? Weird. Yes I watched you play. Loved you. Trump will protect your sport too 🏆.”

In response, Navratilova slammed Trump as a ‘pedophile', writing,

“Trump doesn't protect anyone but himself and his family. He is not pro-women, as is obvious from his continued behavior, he is anti-trans. How can you protect this pedophile???”

Martina Navratilova rose to fame as a tennis star in the 1970s. She arrived on the WTA Tour in 1974 and won her first Grand Slam title later that same year. Over the course of the next three decades, the American went on to win 58 more Major trophies, making her one of the most successful tennis players of all time.

Away from tennis, Navratilova got engaged to her longtime partner Julia Lemigova in 2014 and they got married later that same year. The couple now live in Miami, Florida, and often share glimpses of their life together with fans.
