"The amount of hate I'm getting from my friends" - Team India star makes hilarious Jailer 2 remark amid NZ vs IND 2026 T20Is

Team India all-rounder Washington Sundar recently joked about facing hate from his friends for not watching Jailer 2. The Tamil blockbuster starring Rajinikanth released worldwide on October 15 and has enjoyed a stellar box office run.

Sundar remarked that he didn't know his friendships came with a deadline of watching Jailer 2. The 27-year-old wrote in his Instagram story on Friday, October 30:

"The amount of hate I'm getting from my friends for not watching Jailer 2 needs to be studied! Didn't realise my friendship came with a Jailer 2 viewing deadline 😭😂."

Sundar is part of the India A squad for the ongoing three-match red-ball series against New Zealand A. The spin-bowling all-rounder scored 0 and 52, while recording bowling figures of 1/29 and 1/26, respectively, in the first game.

The second match will be played at Hagley Oval, Christchurch, beginning Saturday. The Tamil Nadu player is part of India's Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against the Black Caps.

Washington Sundar was withdrawn from India's home T20I series against West Indies for red-ball preparations

Washington Sundar was initially named in the T20I squad for the five-match series against West Indies. However, his name was later withdrawn from the team to feature in Ranji Trophy 2026-27 matches for Tamil Nadu.

The decision was taken keeping the New Zealand Test series in mind. Naman Dhir was named as Sundar's replacement in the T20I squad. The BCCI's official release read:

"The Senior Selection Committee, in consultation with the team management, has decided to withdraw Washington Sundar from India’s squad for the T20I series against the West Indies. The decision has been taken in view of the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. With the Ranji Trophy season commencing on October 11, Washington will get an opportunity to play red-ball cricket for his state team and prepare for the Test series. Naman Dhir has been named as his replacement in the T20I squad."

Sundar remained unbeaten in Tamil Nadu's only innings against Rajasthan in his Ranji Trophy appearance, while also picking up three wickets across two innings.
