A fan grabbed attention on Day 3 of the third Test between South Africa and Australia after being spotted holding a placard with a hilarious message for Proteas wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton. The incident occurred during Australia's innings in Cape Town, with Cooper Connolly batting alongside Mitchell Starc during Gerald Coetzee's over. Amid the action, a fan caught the attention of viewers after the broadcaster's camera picked him out holding a banner that read: "Ryan Rickelton, is your mom single?"

Rickelton was unaware of the situation until his teammates asked him to look at the giant screen at Newlands. The fan even blew a flying kiss after being shown on the big screen holding the placard aimed at Rickelton's mother.

Reacting to the banner, Rickelton shook his head but had a wry smile on his face. The incident quickly went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Rickelton scored 42 off 83 balls in the first innings as South Africa posted 329 after being put in to bat by Australia.

The 30-year-old opened the batting in the first Test in Durban but was moved down the order after scores of 0 and 2.

In the second Test in Gqeberha, Rickelton batted only once, scoring 31 as South Africa registered an innings victory to level the series.

Ahead of the third Test, Rickelton said he was relishing the challenge of standing up to the stumps against Australia's batters.

"[Bowling with the keeper up] just changes the batter's mindset," Rickleton said. "I came up to Travis, who had both feet in the crease [while batting] anyway. I don't know if the bowler feels like he has to go a little bit straighter, or a little bit fuller, or the batter feels like he has to play it a lot more. I'm actually not too sure what the dynamic is that I see [that makes standing up to the stumps effective], but it's a trend now in world cricket."
