Gujarat Giants signed wicketkeeper G. Kamalini for Rs. 40 lakh at the WPL 2027 auction in Kochi.
G. Kamalini will join Gujarat Giants for Rs. 40 lakh after the franchise secured the wicketkeeper-batter at the WPL 2027 Auction in Kochi on Wednesday.
The Giants opened the bidding at Rs. 40 lakh, and with no rival bids forthcoming, the franchise had little to do but wait before landing its target at the base price.
Kamalini, 18, spent the past two seasons with Mumbai Indians, which released her ahead of the new season amid availability concerns. She could be called up to India’s squad for the Women’s Under-19 World Cup, which is expected to clash with WPL 2027.
In 10 WPL innings, Kamalini has scored 104 runs at an average of just over 15, with a highest score of 32. Gujarat Giants, meanwhile, will be pleased to have secured a young wicketkeeping option without having to enter a bidding war.
