Team India captain Shreyas Iyer received criticism from the fans after another poor batting performance in the 4th T20I of the ongoing series against New Zealand. India had already won the series by winning the first three games, but Iyer's batting form has come under scrutiny. The flamboyant batter started the series decently with a 42 but faltered later with scores of 7, 5, and 22.
The Men in Blue were in deep trouble when Shreyas entered the crease in the fourth T20I against New Zealand, losing two wickets in the first over during a steep chase of 260. The onus was on his shoulders to anchor the chase after the early blip. However, he failed miserably, getting cleaned up for 22 (11) after attempting an expansive shot, leaving his side in a dire situation.
India eventually reached 172/9 in 20 overs and suffered a heavy 87-run loss. Fans were highly disappointed with Shreyas Iyer's batting performance and expressed their views by sharing memes on social media.

"Shreyas needs to understand his game"- Irfan Pathan's advice to Indian captain ahead of 5th T20I vs New Zealand
Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan recently advised Shreyas Iyer to stick to his strengths and take time initially to build his innings ahead of the final T20I against New Zealand. Seddon Park in Hamilton will host the fifth match on Sunday, November 1. Speaking to Cricinfo ahead of the game about Iyer, Irfan said:
"Shreyas is a kind of player who can afford to take his time. I understand that as a leader, he needs to do what the others are doing as well. If the leader stays behind, that will put pressure on Shreyas Iyer. But Shreyas needs to understand his game. His game is to take a bit of time at the start. He is a kind of player who can hit sixes against the spinners at will."
"You know, he can stand and deliver. In the third T20I, against Santner as well, you know how he got out. The ball was really slow and he went really hard. In the last game in Auckland as well, he went away from the stump and he went hard again. He needs to just look after his timing. Once he works on his timing, there is no ground in the world that is big for him," Pathan added.
