"Go Take That Trip to Germany TONIGHT": 76ers Fans Blast LeBron James Amid Struggles in Team's First Loss

The Philadelphia 76ers suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, falling 106-93 to the Detroit Pistons at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Even though LeBron James finished with a season-high 18 points, he still took most of the criticism online after an inconsistent performance.
James shot 53.3% from the field, but went 0-for-3 from three and just 2-for-6 at the free-throw line while also committing three turnovers. He finished with a -22 box plus-minus, the worst across both teams, which only added to the criticism.
“Lebron looks horrible bro go take that trip to Germany TONIGHT,” @FT_Merchant05 said.

The Germany reference has become part of the running joke around LeBron whenever he looks injured or out of rhythm. The biggest example came in 2023, when he suffered a right foot tendon injury and was rumored to have traveled to Germany for treatment. Despite the speculation, the Lakers later denied that LeBron had actually been treated there. Similar rumors had also followed him earlier in his career, including during his time with Miami.
LeBron James has repeatedly returned from injury or poor form looking significantly better, but the idea that Germany is always behind those turnarounds is not something that has been confirmed.
LeBron James makes a hilarious comment regarding Philadelphia’s rebounding woes
The Philadelphia 76ers have made a solid start to the season with a 3-1 record, but rebounding has already emerged as one of their biggest weaknesses.
Through four games, Philadelphia is averaging just 41.5 rebounds per game, ranking 23rd in the league. The Sixers have also been outrebounded in every game they have played so far.
Things reached a new low on Sunday, when Philadelphia finished with their season-worst 37 rebounds. When asked about the team’s struggles, LeBron James used a famous Taurean Prince reference to keep his answer simple.
“In the great words of Taurean Prince,” James said during the postgame interview. “The ball goes up into the air, and then you go grab the ball.”
Philadelphia’s rebounding issues also come down to its lack of frontcourt depth. Ariel Hukporti was ruled out for the season before the campaign began, while Joel Embiid, Dominick Barlow, Jabari Walker, and Tacko Fall are also dealing with injuries. That has forced the Sixers to rely more heavily on small-ball lineups, including playing LeBron James at center.
