Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) new scheme to attract money from its own players' No Objection Certificates (NOCs) has grabbed the headlines again, ahead of the Abu Dhabi T10 2026. Multiple cricketers from Pakistan are contracted to feature in the tournament for different franchises, but their participation remains doubtful because of the cricket board's intention to get financial benefits through the NOCs.

Mohsin Naqvi-led cricket board has demanded a few things from its players before issuing the required NOCs. Without the no-objection certificates, none of the players will be able to play in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, which is set to start on November 07 and will run until November 20. All of the matches will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Pakistani cricketers' participation in Abu Dhabi T10 2026 doubtful

Pakistani cricketers like Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, Salman Irshad, Sufyan Moqim, Iftikhar Ahmed, Abbas Afridi and Faheem Ashraf have been contracted across franchises to participate in the Abu Dhabi T10 2026.

Before taking the field in the league, the players will have to pay a fee to the cricket board to collect their NOCs. Players will have to pay the fee from their own pockets. Previously, it was reported that the cricket board demanded money for their players' NOCs from the league authorities.

PCB demanded money from MLC and NPL for NOCs

Previously, officials of the Major League Cricket (MLC) and the Nepal Premier League (NPL) accused the PCB of demanding money unethically from them. According to the claims, on the last minute before the beginning of the leagues, the Pakistan Cricket Board officials made contact with the franchise or the team officials, claiming money to issue the Certificate to their cricketers.

As the board officials expressed their demand at the very last minute, the franchises were put in a tricky situation. They were left with only two options: either play without the Pakistani cricketer or pay the fee immediately to make the cricketer available to play for the franchise. Demanding an amount for a player's NOC was something new in the international cricket circle.

PCB may have made some changes in its policy, as it has asked its players to pay the fees from their own pockets. According to several media reports, PCB has demanded a USD 10,000 fee per player to issue a No Objection Certificate for the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 2026. Well-known Pakistani journalist Aurangzeb Younis has believed in revealing the matter in the public domain.

All Pakistani cricketers were replaced in the Nepal Premier League 2026

Due to PCB's demands, not a single Pakistani cricketer was featured in the SA20 2027 auctions. In the upcoming days, if PCB stays firm on its stance, then other franchise leagues across formats like the MLC and NPL can restrict themselves from registering any Pakistani cricketers.

Because of the standoff between the Nepal Cricket Board and the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the fees for the NOCs, all of the Pakistani cricketers were replaced in the NPL 2026.
