Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Auqib Nabi is set to replace injured Prasidh Krishna in the ODI squad for the New Zealand series, according to reports.

Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Auqib Nabi is set to replace injured Prasidh Krishna in the ODI squad for the New Zealand series, according to reports. The Men in Blue will play five ODIs on the ongoing tour, beginning Wednesday, November 4.

Prasidh Krishna was included in the squad for the first three ODIs, subject to fitness clearance. Meanwhile, Auqib Nabi was initially named in the squad only for the final two ODIs. However, with Krishna to be ruled out of the entire series (as per reports), Nabi is likely to replace him for all five games.

Nabi has played only one ODI so far, making his debut in the recently concluded home series against the West Indies. It was not a good outing for him, as he proved to be expensive and wicketless, returning figures of 0/84 from 8.5 overs.

However, he has a decent record in the format. In 37 List A games, he has picked up 56 wickets at an average of 28.87 and an economy rate of 5.33. Should he get an opportunity in the upcoming ODI series, the DC pacer will be keen to redeem himself. Surprisingly, he was not included in the Test squad, in a format where his best performances have come in domestic cricket.

Prasidh Krishna sustained an injury during the West Indies series

Prasidh Krishna sustained a left hamstring injury during the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati on September 30, 2026, where he managed to bowl only five overs.

He was ruled out of the third and final ODI of the series as Anshul Kamboj replaced him in the squad. Suffering from a hamstring strain (not a complete tear), he is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru.

Prasidh Krishna has also been picked in the Test squad. India will play a two-match Test series against New Zealand, with the first Test scheduled to begin on Thursday, November 19, in Wellington. However, it remains to be seen if he can recover in time to gain complete fitness for the Test series, as he is likely to miss out on the ODIs.
