India vs New Zealand 4th T20I match has been ongoing at Eden Park, Auckland, as the first innings has come to an end. During the match, Arshdeep Singh, on the verge of history, reached his 150 T20I wickets after dismissing New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner.

The Men in Blue have already won the series, leading the five-match contest 3-0. This match is a dead rubber for both sides; Shreyas Iyer and his boys dominated the Kiwis at home and created some mammoth records in the earlier matches. In the last match, it was carnage from Abhishek Sharma that made a mockery of a run chase.

Arshdeep Singh creates world record after 150 T20I wickets

Arshdeep Singh became the first Indian bowler to pick 150 T20I wickets. He created the record after dismissing Mitchell Santner in the fourth match of the India vs New Zealand series. The left-arm pacer has been brilliant for the Men in Blue and has been a consistent performer with the new ball and in the death overs as well.

Arshdeep, after picking the wicket, has achieved the record in just 1577 days from his debut and the quickest by any bowler, surpassing Wanindu Hasaranga’s 2325-day record. The left-arm seamer has been a spearhead for the Men in Blue in the absence of a senior pacer like Jasprit Bumrah in the side. He is the fastest pacer, surpassing Mustafizur Rahman's 2532 balls record.

Arshdeep has also created the record for the most wickets in a calendar year for a full member side, surpassing the record of Joshua Little, who picked 39 wickets in 2022; now the former has picked 40 wickets this year so far and would look to finish with more wickets as he has one more match left to get some wickets.

The left-arm seamer also went past the record of the most T20I wickets in a calendar year by an Indian, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar who previously picked 37 wickets back in 2022 season.
