Mukesh Kumar produced an excellent spell of swing and seam bowling to put New Zealand A under pressure in the second unofficial Test. The India A pacer dismissed Tim Robinson and Curtis Heaphy in the same over, sending both openers back to the pavilion.
Robinson was the first to depart. Mukesh bowled a good-length delivery outside off that moved sharply back into the batter. Robinson tried to defend but missed the ball and was struck on the pads. The umpire eventually raised his finger after a loud appeal from Mukesh and the fielders.
Robinson scored three off nine balls.
Three balls later, Mukesh struck again. He bowled a fuller delivery outside off that swung away from Heaphy. The opener went for a loose drive away from his body and edged it to gully, where Yashasvi Jaiswal took a good low catch.
Heaphy departed for four off 21 balls as both New Zealand A openers returned to the pavilion.
