“I’m not friends with backstabbers”: Tom Brady ignites war between Victoria’s Secret Angels Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls

Tom Brady is once again in the headlines.

A nearly 15-year friendship between supermodels Candice Swanepoel and Joan Smalls appears to have come to an end.

The drama between Swanepoel and Smalls came to light on Instagram.

On Oct. 20, a follower asked Smalls in the comments section of one of her Instagram posts, “You are not friends anymore with Candice?”

Smalls replied bluntly, “I'm not friends with backstabbers.”

She later shared more details about the end of their friendship, accusing someone of breaking her trust and failing to take responsibility for their actions.

“There is no girl code with some people. And the disrespect and carelessness in how they treat you is so unimaginable. There's no going back. Some people lack humility and a moral compass. And the way they gaslight, lie and minimize your feelings is the worst slap in the face after 15 yrs [of] friendship. Not a sorry said or written. Onwards and upwards!!!” Smalls wrote.

Both comments were deleted later.

On Oct. 25, entertainment outlet Just Jared reported on the social media drama via Instagram, noting that fans had noticed the longtime friends had unfollowed each other.

Smalls later appeared to offer another clue about the situation through a comment from her official Instagram account.

Responding to the discussion, she wrote, “Two words: SUMMER HOUSE ! That'll explain everything.”

The public fallout comes amid reports linking Swanepoel to former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who was previously romantically linked to Smalls.

On Oct. 18, both Swanepoel and Smalls walked the runway at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in Los Angeles.

On Oct. 25, People reported that Brady and Swanepoel had been dating “for a while” and were “spending a lot of time together,” citing a source.

The following day, Page Six reported on the alleged reason behind the feud, claiming that Smalls was furious about Swanepoel's reported relationship with Brady, whom Smalls had previously dated.

“We’re told she’s so furious that fellow Victoria’s Secret Angel and former BFF Candice Swanepoel has hooked up with her one-time paramour Tom Brady that she’s giving their mutual friends an ultimatum: you’re either friends with her, or friends with me,” Page Six reported.

Previously, Tom Brady was married to Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

They finalized their divorce on October 28, 2022, after 13 years of marriage.

They have a son, Benjamin (born 2009), and a daughter, Vivian (born 2012).

Gisele Bündchen is currently married to Jiu-Jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente. They share a son together.
