"It seemed like no one would be able to play faster than Rohit Sharma" - Former cricketer on Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi's partnership

After India's win in the third T20I against New Zealand, former cricketer Ajay Jadeja has lauded Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi for stitching together a destructive partnership. He noted that the duo left the seemingly insurmountable Rohit Sharma behind in belligerence.
New Zealand set India a 199-run target in Wellington on Tuesday, October 27. Abhishek (113 off 38) and Suryavanshi (45 off 19) then added 133 runs for the first wicket in just 7.1 overs as the Men in Blue achieved the target with six wickets and 40 balls to spare.
Reviewing the game on Sony Sports, Jadeja pointed out that Abhishek and Suryavanshi have surpassed Rohit's explosiveness.
"I got a feeling that the period of the game has changed. It seemed like no one would be able to play faster than Rohit Sharma. Now, when you see their numbers, you will feel whether Rohit Sharma was a player. It's a new era and a new day," he said.
The former India captain noted that the New Zealand bowlers had no option but to surrender against the opening duo.
"They (the bowlers) could have done only one thing today, and that was to sit down. Where were they running? They couldn't have done anything. Whatever you did, they (Abhishek and Suryavanshi) were only doing. They were in such a mood. This can only happen at this age. They kept enjoying, and I am extremely thankful for the enjoyment they gave us," Jadeja observed.
While Abhishek Sharma has amassed 2,127 runs at a strike rate of 193.36 in 68 T20I innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has aggregated 295 runs at a strike rate of 185.53 in 10 shortest-format games internationally. Rohit Sharma scored 4,231 runs at a strike rate of 140.89 in 151 T20I innings.
"When the wind blows, you wait for it to stop before you think" - Ajay Jadeja on Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi's destructive knocks
In the same discussion, Ajay Jadeja noted that the New Zealand bowlers would have also started enjoying the game once Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed 100 runs in the first five overs.
"When the wind blows, you wait for it to stop before you think. It happened so quickly. They reached 100 in 30 balls. Even if someone hits the first six to 10 balls, the bowler thinks the batter will get out now, or he will try something. However, when they reached 100 in five overs, the bowlers would also be enjoying this game," he said.
The cricketer-turned-commentator added that such games should not be analyzed.
"Some matches shouldn't be analyzed, whether you are a player, a coach, us sitting here, or those watching at home. You can either appreciate a day, or you can be sad if you are a bowler, but if you analyze this match and say they would do this every day, that won't happen. This was an extremely special day," Jadeja observed.
Abhishek Sharma struck nine fours and 11 sixes during his 113-run knock. Vaibhav Suryavanshi's 45-run effort was studded with four fours and as many sixes.
