Mu Xiaokui attacks in Phantom Blade Zero
Mu Xiaokui has two main phases, with an additional phase unlocked by completing the Young Mistress tale. Her first two phases rely on fast sword attacks, aerial movements, and ranged strikes. If you unlock the third phase, you must also deal with her two guardians, Jade Dancer and Iron Fiend.
Here are the main attacks you should watch out for:
Leaping strike and dash: Mu Xiaokui jumps over you before landing and rushing forward with a white-blue dash. Watch her landing position and dodge twice.
Lunge: The main boss charges directly toward you from medium range. Dodge sideways just before she reaches you, then counterattack if she does not immediately follow up.
Crimson slashes: Mu Xiaokui performs multiple quick sword swings.
Spinning crimson combo: Red rings begin revolving around you before the enemy launches a powerful finishing attack. Move away as soon as the rings appear, as this attack deals significant damage.
Red crescent: She launches a red crescent-shaped projectile from a distance. Dodge sideways to avoid it.
Red burst: A red explosion appears beneath you as Mu Xiaokui attacks from range. Keep moving to avoid being caught by the burst.
Blade chain: The foe unleashes a rapid series of sword strikes, ending with a red trail. This is one of her most dangerous attacks, so dodge sideways as soon as the sequence begins instead of trying to block every hit.
Delayed heavy strike: Mu Xiaokui winds up before performing a powerful sword swing. Wait for the attack to come down before dodging, as timing is very important.
