Bangladesh (BAN) vs West Indies (WI), 1st Test Day 1 Live score and updates: Bangladesh opted to bat but West Indies struck early to remove Tanzid Hasan, keeping the hosts in check on a pitch offering some assistance to the bowlers. We are moments away from the start of the game, but before that, the players from both sides make their way out to the middle and line up for their respective national anthems. It will be West Indies' first, followed by that of Bangladesh.

PITCH REPORT -Russel Arnold expects the Dhaka surface to offer plenty for all types of bowlers as the Test progresses. He notes that Bangladesh have deliberately left more grass on their Test pitches in recent years, leading to greater pace and bounce, with fast bowlers increasingly coming into the game while spin also has a role to play.The surface has a good covering of grass and looks hard, which Arnold believes should bring pace and bounce early on. He also expects cracks to widen as the match progresses, with wear and tear potentially creating uneven bounce, while the warm conditions could bring more turn into play later in the Test.Arnold feels the batting first will have a slight advantage, with limited sideways movement early on and good value for shots once the ball comes onto the bat. He adds that Bangladesh have grown more confident in handling these conditions and adapting as the pitch changes, while West Indies' strong pace attack should make for an intriguing contest.
