Cricket Australia has unveiled a mural of Travis Head and Alex Carey in Adelaide, 50 days before the 2026 Christmas Test against New Zealand.

Cricket Australia has unveiled a mural celebrating South Australian stars Travis Head and Alex Carey in Adelaide, with 50 days to go before the Christmas Test against New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval.

Located in Adelaide’s central business district, the artwork pays tribute to two of the city’s favourite cricketing sons as anticipation builds for one of the highlights of Australia’s sporting calendar.

Members of Head’s family joined former Australia cricketers Callum Ferguson and Mel Jones for the unveiling.

Painted by NSW-based artist Calum Hotham in collaboration with street art studio Blank Walls, the mural took a week to complete. It stands at the corner of King William and Currie streets, at the former Adelaide Metro Information Centre.

The artwork depicts Head and Carey raising their bats, with the Adelaide Oval scoreboard, The Hill and St Peter’s Cathedral forming the backdrop, bringing together two of South Australia’s cricketing heroes and some of Adelaide’s most recognisable landmarks.
