India won the T20 series 3-2, but New Zealand carry the momentum from the shortest format, having won the last two matches of the series in Auckland and Hamilton.
A two-match Test series follows the ODIs later this month and with only three days between day one of the first Test and the fifth ODI, both squads will change significantly for the final two matches of the 50-over series.

Those on Test duty will depart, including Indian captain Shubman Gill, and link up with some of the red ball specialists, who have been plying their trade in India A’s three-match series of four-day games against New Zealand.
Superstar fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been rested ahead of the Test series.
Meanwhile, the Black Caps will be without star all-rounder Rachin Ravindra as the stylish left-hand batter recovers from a shoulder injury ahead of crucial Test series against India and Australia.
The hosts, who top the World Test Championship standings after South Africa’s series victory against Australia, will make a whopping eight changes to their ODI squad for the final two games.
