Four players in Team India's squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand were part of the Men in Blue's T20I squad during the 2019 away series. Take a look.

#1 Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma was the captain of the T20I side during India's tour of New Zealand in 2019. The Black Caps went on to win the series 2-1. In three innings, he scored 89 runs at an average of 29.66 and a strike rate of 134.84, with one half-century.

The Hitman was dismissed for one off five balls in the first T20I in Wellington. He slammed 50 off 29 in Auckland, with three fours and four sixes and followed it up with 38 off 32 in Hamilton, hitting three fours.

#2 Kuldeep Yadav

Left-arm wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav played one match during India's T20I series in New Zealand in 2019. He featured in the third T20I in Hamilton and registered impressive figures of 2-26 from his four overs even as New Zealand went on to win the close contest by four runs.

Kuldeep dismissed the well-set Tim Seifert (43 off 25), having him stumped off a fuller length delivery. He also got the big wicket of Colin Munro (72 off 40), who was caught attempting a slog sweep over deep midwicket. Batting first, New Zealand posted 212-4 in this game and then held India to 208-6.

#3 Mohammed Siraj

Pacer Mohammed Siraj was part of the Indian T20I squad for the 2019 tour of New Zealand. However, he was not picked in the playing XI in any of the three matches.

Siraj made his T20I debut against New Zealand in Rajkot in November 2017. He has been in and out of the team in the T20I format since then. The 32-year-old has only featured in 17 T20Is so far and has claimed 17 wickets at an average of 28.29 and an economy rate of 7.75, with a best of 4-17.

#4 Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill was also part of the Indian T20I team during the tour of New Zealand in 2019. Like Siraj, he also did not play any of the three matches in the T20I series.

Gill made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in January 2023. In 36 T20I matches so far, he has scored 869 runs at an average of 28.03 and a strike rate of 138.59, with one ton and three fifties. He is currently out of favor in the format. Gill last played a T20I for India against South Africa in Dharamsala in December 2025.
