Aaryavir's fast starts, Anvay's late hitting

Aaryavir Sehwag opened in all three Youth ODIs against Australia in Rajkot in September, making 28, 47 and 34 as India swept the series 3-0. The second match was the best of them: 47 off 48 balls with nine fours, ended by a run-out after a mix-up with Vineeth, three runs short of a maiden fifty. He added 46 for the first wicket with Raichandani and 55 with Vineeth in India's 341 for 7. His 297 for Delhi Under-19 against Meghalaya in the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy remains his standout innings.

Anvay batted at No. 6 and kept wickets, hitting 38 off 18 balls with two fours and three sixes in the first ODI, as India reached 182 for 6 and won by seven runs. In July, he made 87 off 67 against Sri Lanka, with nine fours and a six, walking in at 81 for 4 and sharing a 145-run stand with Arjun Rajput.

Anvay's rival for the gloves is Baghel, while Aaryavir's opening partner in Rajkot, Raichandani, now leads the side. The tournament builds towards the 2028 Under-19 World Cup.
