The fifth edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) will be played across Vadodara and Mumbai from January 14 to February 7, 2027, with the BCCI announcing the full schedule and venues for the tournament on Tuesday.

Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will begin their title defence against two-time winners Mumbai Indians in the opening match on January 14. The tournament will feature 22 matches, with Vadodara and Mumbai hosting 11 games each.

The first leg will be played at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara, from January 14 to 24. All five teams will feature in the opening phase, with Gujarat Giants taking on UP Warriorz in the second match on January 15.

The action will then move to Mumbai, where the Brabourne Stadium, operated by the Cricket Club of India, will host the remaining league matches, along with the playoffs and final.

The Mumbai leg will begin on January 26 with a repeat of the opening fixture as Mumbai Indians take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The league stage will conclude on February 3, with Delhi Capitals facing UP Warriorz in the final league match.

All matches are scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM IST.

PLAYOFFS IN MUMBAI

The race for the title will enter its decisive phase in Mumbai. The Eliminator, featuring the second- and third-placed teams from the league stage, will be played on February 5 at the Brabourne Stadium.

The team finishing at the top of the points table will qualify directly for the final, scheduled for February 7 at the same venue. The fourth-placed team will be eliminated at the end of the league stage.

"The Vadodara leg will run until January 24, featuring 11 matches as the five teams begin their campaign in the race for the title. The action will then shift to Mumbai, where the Cricket Club of India's Brabourne Stadium will host the remaining 11 matches from January 26," the BCCI said in its release.

The previous edition of the five-team competition was held across Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium and Vadodara. The DY Patil Stadium is currently undergoing renovation, prompting a change in the venue arrangement for the upcoming season.

With the defending champions taking on Mumbai Indians in the opening fixture, the 2027 edition will begin with a contest between two of the competition's most successful teams.
