Team India suffered a huge defeat against New Zealand in the fourth T20I, going down by 87 runs in Auckland. Chasing a massive target of 260, the Men in Blue were restricted to 172/9.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made a 19-ball 45 in the previous game, was dropped as Ishan Kishan returned after recovering from injury. However, Kishan was dismissed for a first-ball duck. The likes of Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, and captain Shreyas Iyer also failed to fire.

Following the big defeat, fans reckoned that the visitors missed firepower at the top in the form of Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

"When India are chasing a par score of 170-180, they can get the job done quickly around in 15 overs. But a target of 250 or more, which should suit their aggressive style of batting at the top, is where they lack temperament and consistency. Vaibhav was a big miss today" a fan wrote on X.

"It was NZ game today just like last game it was India. Yes Vaibhav should have played ahead of Ishan. Ishan coming from injury could have rested. But very critical about batting order. Left right batter pushed Tilak too low and I don't think Axar need to bat so high. Messed up," another fan wrote.

Earlier, Glenn Phillips smashed a brilliant hundred to guide New Zealand to 259/7. He made 107 runs off just 49 balls with six fours and ten sixes at a strike rate of 218.37.

India will aim to bounce back in the fifth T20I

Despite the huge defeat, the Men in Blue have already clinched the five-match series with wins in the first three games. They are now 3-1 ahead in the series with one match to go.

The final match of the series will be played on Sunday, November 1, at Seddon Park in Hamilton. India's batting has been impressive this series, with new performers in each game.

The visitors will aim to bounce back from this big defeat and put up an improved display with both bat and ball in the final T20I. They will look to end the series with a victory and complete a dominant series win.
