Pakistan has been hosting a tri-series with England and Sri Lanka as part of the series. The host has qualified for the final and will face Sri Lanka on October 31st. Amidst this, the Men in Green pacer Haris Rauf has been fined by the ICC for a Code of Conduct breach during the game against England.

The Men in Green, after their loss against Sri Lanka in the last game, saw England get knocked out of the competition, as the Three Lions needed Pakistan to win the game; however, they were completely outplayed by the Island Nation, knocking Harry Brook’s side out of the series as they still have a dead rubber match against Sri Lanka.

Haris Rauf fined by ICC

Haris Rauf has been warned and fined 20% of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the ODI against England at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Saturday. He was involved in an argument with England cricketer Will Jacks during the game, which led to chaos in the low-scoring match.

Haris Rauf was found breaching Article 2.2 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which refers to displaying behaviour in contrast to the spirit of the game. He was handed one demerit point. This was his third offence, and in total he has been handed five demerit points in a span of 24 months.

What happened between Haris Rauf and Will Jacks?

The incident happened during the 46th over of the match after England all-rounder Sam Curran bowled a bouncer to Shadab Khan, who was batting on 99 runs, and the Pakistan all-rounder turned towards the square leg umpire for a wide, but the umpire did not respond to his appeal. However, things got heated at the non-striker’s end when Rauf had an exchange with Will Jacks.

Haris Rauf charged towards the England all-rounder and walked aggressively towards him, leading the umpire to step between the players. Despite a warning from on-field umpire Sharfuddoula Ibne Shahid, Rauf did not stop and went past to Jacks, raising the bat. Thus, the pacer was found guilty of breaching the ICC Code of Conduct.
