The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2027 mini-auction is set to take place on December 16 at the ITC Grand in Goa, India. Ahead of that, the deadline day for retention has changed, with two more days given, as it is now on November 17th. Amidst this, there has been yet another trade talk between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
The franchises are doing trade deals, building their teams, and revamping the coaching staff ahead of the mini-auction. There are reports of some blockbuster trade deals that might happen ahead of the deadline day or on the deadline day. Some big trades have already taken place between some franchises. It is a big week for the cricket and IPL fans.
LSG and RR involved in a multi-player trade deal
As per recent reports from Cricbuzz, RR and LSG are in trade talks, which involve three or four players. It is believed that the Royals management is keen to acquire the services of a pace bowler who had a successful time with LSG last season and is likely to shift his base to Jaipur from Lucknow.
Though no names have come out, will it be the pacer who has represented the India National Cricket Team or has been doing it currently. Can it be Mohammed Shami or Prince Yadav? Though nothing has been confirmed yet, apart from that, a spinner from the Super Giants could also be part of the deal, but the trade is on principle, so no names are out.
LSG is in search of a middle-order batter and finisher
Lucknow did not have the best of times with the batting, so they want a solid batter from the Royals and are ready to give up one of their bowlers, as bowling, particularly fast bowling, was their strength. The Super Giants did have some big names in their batting line-up, but they failed to keep up the expectation.
On the other hand, the Royals have stacked up a batting order and some amazing all-rounders in their squad, so they might involve a batter or an all-rounder in the trade to acquire the service of the fast bowler. Though they have Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger, they do not have an Indian pacer who has done well.
LSG let go of Rishabh Pant for Kuldeep Yadav
The Super Giants have already been involved in a trade deal where they have surprisingly let go of their last season's captain, Rishabh Pant, and brought in local boy Kuldeep Yadav from Delhi Capitals (DC). The deal involved a player-and-cash deal, as the former had a whopping price of INR 27 crore.
Pant returned to Delhi Capitals for a revised fee of INR 15 crore, and Kuldeep moved with his existing fee of INR 13.50 crore, ending his five-season stint with DC. The trade had left LSG with an extra INR 13.50 crore in their auction purse, while DC had INR 1.50 crore deducted.
