Yashasvi Jaiswal Makes Statement With Unbeaten 155 for India A Ahead of New Zealand Tests
Having managed scores of 17, 5 and 0 in his previous three innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal crossed the 150-run mark on Day 4 of the second unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A in Christchurch, which ended in a draw.
India batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has finally rediscovered his touch ahead of the two-Test series against New Zealand after a difficult start to the tour. Having managed scores of 17, 5 and 0 in his previous three innings, Jaiswal crossed the 150-run mark on Day 4 of the second unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A in Christchurch, which ended in a draw. What made the knock even more impressive was the pace at which it came. At the close of play, Jaiswal was unbeaten on 155 off 162 balls, striking at 95.67 and smashing 15 fours and five sixes. His counter-attacking innings put India A firmly in control after the visitors had conceded a 78-run first-innings lead.
Jaiswal brought up his century in style, launching Dean Foxcroft over cow corner for a six before blowing a flying kiss towards the Indian team's dugout.

It has been a difficult few months for Jaiswal since scoring a century against Afghanistan in an ODI in June. Since then, he had managed just 160 runs across eight innings, including two ducks, raising questions about his form.
Those concerns deepened in the first innings of the second unofficial Test, where Jaiswal was trapped lbw by Fraser Sheat for a four-ball duck. However, the left-hander answered his critics in emphatic fashion with a fluent century, providing a timely reminder of his quality ahead of India's two-Test series against New Zealand later this month.
India resumed Day 4 at 32/0 in their second innings, still 46 runs behind after New Zealand A were bowled out for 424, with Yashasvi Jaiswal unbeaten on 20 overnight.
The hosts had secured a 78-run first-innings lead thanks largely to a century from Matthew Boyle and Dean Foxcroft's 93. Despite New Zealand A's strong batting display, India A's bowlers kept the deficit within reach, led by Mukesh Kumar's impressive five-wicket haul.
Mukesh finished with figures of 5/87, while Mohammed Siraj claimed 4/118. Washington Sundar accounted for the remaining wicket as New Zealand A were eventually dismissed for 424. Jaiswal then spearheaded India's response in the second innings, turning the momentum with a commanding unbeaten century.
Both teams shook hands after Yash Rathod scored his century moments after Tea on Day 4.
