In the clip, Myles Turner appeared to force a turnover in the Bucks' half before lobbing the ball to Jaquez Jr. The forward caught the ball mid-air but was then tackled by a rushing Kuzma, causing him to miss the shot and give up the possession.
The clip quickly turned heads online as NBA fans mocked the former Lakers star for fouling his own teammate on an open layup.
"It’s time we have a serious discussion regarding Kyle Kuzma’s brain," a fan wrote.
"Every time I see this guy, it’s like his IQ and PRA O/U are competing to see which one is lower," another fan added.
Fans kept taking shots at Kuzma online as they questioned his motive for the shove on Jaquez.
"Lmao kuz wtf ??? How is his basketball awareness that low for an actual NBA player 😭😭dat boy just be in the way fr," another fan commented.
"Fouling your own teammate is peak incompetence, did he think that was a pass? 😭," another remarked.
While fans mocked Kuzma for fouling his own teammate, the forward did make up for it with his performance. He recorded 17 points and seven rebounds, becoming one of three Bucks starters to score in double figures as Milwaukee defeated Indiana 110-102 to secure its first win of the season.
Milwaukee Bucks HC praises his starters as Kyle Kuzma and co. earn first win of the season
After losing their first three games, the Milwaukee Bucks finally secured their first win of the season on Monday. At home, the Bucks came back in the second half to defeat the Pacers, as they continue adjusting to life after Giannis Antetokounmpo's exit.
In the postgame interview, Bucks head coach Taylor Jenkins praised his team for securing the win and highlighted his starters' efforts.
"Starters did a great job. Just went in the third quarter setting a tone there," Jenkins said. "Obviously won in the fourth quarter against a dynamic offense.
"You know, I thought we were doing it, you know, in spurts there in the first half. Did it way much more in the second half. Put a full 48 minutes together. So, still more to clean up, but just really proud of the group."
Kyle Kuzma and co. will look to build on the victory and gain positive momentum as the season progresses.
